Electrical Live Line Work (LLW) – Medical Examination

Checklist for the Physician

Review of job requirements and hazard assessment
Initial short consultation (information and consent)

Physical examination:

• General medical examination (internal medicine)
• Musculoskeletal assessment (orthopedic focus)
• Neurological evaluation (including seizure history, motor function, coordination)
• Assessment of mental stability and stress tolerance

Eye & Vision tests:

• Visual acuity
• Color vision
• Visual field
• Health screening (screening for obvious abnormalities, additional referral only if indicated)

Audiometry (hearing test)

• Pure tone audiometry (hearing thresholds across main frequencies)
• Speech audiometry (ability to understand spoken communication)
• Assessment of perception of warning signals (relevant tones/alarms used in the work environment)

Resting ECG (in case of cardiovascular risk factors additional ergometry/exercise stress test recomended)
Clarification of any unclear findings (additional diagnostics if necessary)
Check for contraindications (e.g. epilepsy, implanted devices, severe cardiovascular disorders)
Final medical judgment of fitness according to job requirements – physical and mental (fit/unfit)
Closing consultation with the employee
Issue of medical certificate
